Rabarbra is a sparkling wine made from rhubarb rather than grapes. This is the MINI format: a 200 ml bottle holding roughly one and a half glasses, which makes it useful for gift boxes, tastings and single servings where a full 75 cl bottle is too much.
How it is made
The wine is fermented from rhubarb and nothing else. The producer states that no concentrates and no artificial or “natural” flavourings, aromas or colourings are used. Since the winery moved from Telliskivi in Tallinn, the rhubarb wines are fermented in South Estonia.
Taste
Dry and light-bodied, with the acidity of rhubarb balanced against a low level of residual sugar. Rhubarb sits in the aroma and the finish rather than reading as a fruit flavouring.
