Answers to the questions we hear most often about Artisan Honey’s raw honey, storage, gifting and shipping. Have a question that isn’t covered? Email us at info@artisanhoney.ee.
What is raw honey, and how is it different from regular (processed) honey?
Raw honey is honey that has not been pasteurised or heavily filtered. At Artisan Honey we keep our honey unheated and minimally processed, so its natural enzymes, pollen, aroma and flavour stay intact. Most supermarket honey is pasteurised (heated) and fine-filtered for a clear, uniform look and a long shelf life — a process that strips away much of honey’s natural character. Our raw honey comes straight from local Estonian beekeepers.
Why has my honey crystallised — is it still good?
Crystallisation (honey turning thick, grainy or solid) is completely natural and is actually a sign of pure, raw honey. It does not mean the honey has spoiled. To return it to a liquid state, place the jar in warm water below 40 °C; avoid boiling or microwaving, which destroys the natural enzymes.
How should I store honey?
Store honey at room temperature in a tightly closed jar, away from direct sunlight. It does not need refrigeration. Pure honey keeps for years and never truly “expires”, though raw honey is at its best for flavour and aroma within about two years.
Are your honeys suitable for gifts and corporate gifting?
Yes. Artisan Honey specialises in honey gift sets in wooden and cork packaging, and we offer business / corporate gifts that can be personalised with your company logo. Browse our gift sets or email info@artisanhoney.ee for tailored corporate orders.
Where do you ship, and how long does delivery take?
We ship across Estonia and dispatch orders on business days (Mon–Fri, 9:00–17:00). Our products are also resold by selected partners abroad. You can order directly from our webshop; for international or wholesale enquiries, email info@artisanhoney.ee.
What kinds of honey and honey products do you offer?
We offer single-origin and flavoured raw honeys (such as blossom, heather, blueberry, sea-buckthorn, lemon & ginger and matcha), honey-based delicacies, and bee products such as propolis and royal jelly — plus curated gift sets.
Is your honey genuinely Estonian and tested?
Yes — our honey is sourced directly from local Estonian beekeepers and is DNA-tested to verify its botanical origin and authenticity, so you know exactly what is in the jar.
