Rabarbra is a sparkling wine fermented from rhubarb instead of grapes, and it is the drink that established Peenjoogivabrik Nudist. This is the standard 75 cl bottle, the format for a shared table rather than a single glass.
How it is made
The wine is made from rhubarb and nothing else. The producer’s organic-certified rhubarb is grown at Tagametsa Mahe talu or Rabafarm, both dedicated organic growers. Since the winery moved out of Telliskivi in Tallinn, all of its rhubarb wines have been fermented in South Estonia. No artificial or “natural” flavourings, aromas or colourings are used at any stage.
Taste
Light-bodied and dry, with rhubarb acidity held against a modest level of residual sugar (under 17 g/l). The rhubarb reads as aroma and finish rather than as a sweet fruit flavour.
Recognition
Named Best Drink 2018 in Estonia and awarded Platinum at the Baltic Taste Awards 2024. The producer reports it holds the highest Vivino rating among Estonian sparkling wines (4.1).
